    TUITION PAYMENT AND REFUNDS
  • When a student registers, it is understood that he/she is enrolling for the entire year.
  • In previous school years, no discount was allowed for annual payment of tuition fees. Instead surcharges for installment payment were computed equal to cost of money.
  • In consideration for parent’s concern for increasing cost of education, the school has approved the following discount incentives for mode of payment on tuition fees effective 2003-2004:

         a. 8% discount for full annual payment
         b. 4% discount for full semi-annual payment

  • No discount will be granted for monthly payment but there will be a daily surcharge or penalty for delayed payment at the rate pf Php 5.00/day. All monthly payments are due every 1st day of the month.
  • When a student transfers or otherwise withdraws, in writing within the first week of classes, and has already paid the pertinent tuition and other fees in full or for any period longer than one (1) month, he may be charged 10% of the total amount due for the year. If he withdraws within the second week of classes regardless of whether or not he has actually attended classes, he may be charged 20% of the school fees. He may be charged all the fees in full if he withdraws anytime after the second week. However, if the transfer or withdrawal is for justifiable reasons, he will be charged the pertinent fees only up to and including the last month of attendance. (Section 66, Manual of Regulations for Private Schools, 1992)

    SCHOLARSHIPS
     
    ACADEMY SPONSORED GRANTS
    These scholarships are wholly sponsored and subsidized by the Academy and are classified as follows:
     
    ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP GRANT
    These are classified into two (2) categories: the Elementary School Honor Students and the Year Level Honor Students.
     
       - Elementary School Students
         Students who graduate as First Honors, Second Honors and Third Honors are granted      scholarships in tuition fees as follows:
         
  • First Honors 100% free tuition for 4 years      
  • Second Honors 50% free tuition for 4 years      
  • Third Honors 30% free tuition for 4 years

  • Applicants are required to submit to the Registrar before enrolment their Form 138 or report card, certificate of good moral and certification of honors from school of origin indicating therein the number of graduates. The Registrar submits this document to the Scholarship Board consists of the Principal, the Guidance Counselor in charge of scholarships and the Year Level Adviser who advises the grantee of the scholarship.

    The Registrar issues the grantee a certificate of scholarship for the guidance of the Cashier. The Scholarship Board evaluates the performance of each scholar every year and sets standards for each elementary graduate grantee to attain in order to continuously avail of the scholarship grant for the succeeding year/s.
     
       - Honor Students
         These are students from each year level as determined by the Scholarship Board from fifteen      candidates from each year level. They are evaluated based on academic standing. They are      granted tuition privilege for the year following the year they have attained the honors. Top honors      are granted 100% free tuition fee; 50%, for second honors, and 30%, for third honors.

         The academic scholars must maintain an average of 85% and must not have a grade lower than      80% in any subject and in any grading period.

    Applicants are required to submit to the Registrar before enrolment their Form 138 or report card, certificate of good moral and certification of honors from school of origin indicating therein the number of graduates (20 students or more).     BROTHER-SISTER SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS
    The Academy grants 50% free tuition scholarship to the second child enrolled in the school. The same 50% free tuition fee is granted to the third, fourth, etc. child enrolled in the Academy in the same school year.

    To avail of this grant, the parent/enrollee must first secure a certification from the Registrar attesting that the enrollee is the second, third, etc. child. The parent/enrollee presents this certificate to the Cashier for assessment of tuition and other fees. This scholarship will be based on the following conditions:
         
  • If the first child (eldest) drops out of school, the second child will pay the regular required tuition fee starting the following month after separation.

    EMPLOYEES’ CHILDREN SCHOLARSHIPS
    The teachers and staff may enroll their children in the Academy and avail of the 100% free tuition accorded their children.

    The Registrar issues a certificate indicating that the enrollee is the legitimate child of the teacher or staff. The employee presents this certificate to the Cashier for proper assessment. The scholarship is based on the condition that the beneficiary will enjoy the scholarship only for the duration of the required four-year secondary course. Any year of study in excess of this requirement shall be shouldered by the employee concerned.
     
    PRIVATELY – SPONSORED SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS
    This scholarship grant is awarded to the academically deserving students who meet the requirements of the Scholarship Board and the sponsoring individual/organization. The school announces the various private scholarship grants available for the school year. First year students who meet the following criteria may apply after passing the entrance examination:
         
  • Average grade 85% with no grade in any subject lower than 80%      
  • Good Moral Character      
  • Parent’s/Guardian’s family income      
  • Leadership potentials      
  • Extra-curricular activities in the elementary
  •  
    The applicant submits the requirements to the Guidance Counselor in charge of scholarships who, in turn, endorses the papers to the Scholarship Board for screening and selection. The Scholarship Board submits the selected scholar to the benefactor or recommends the scholar to him/her for approval. If the benefactor so requires, the applicant may be asked to meet him/her.

    Any vacancy in higher years vacated by previous grantee may be applied for, subject to acceptance by the benefactor.
     
    GOVERNMENT SPONSORED SCHOLARSHIP or EDUCATIONAL SERVICE CONTRACTING (ESC/EVS) GRANTS
    The Academy admits students under this government-sponsored subsidy. The DepEd determines the amount of government subsidy for the school year and the balance of the fees paid by the grantee. The applicant submits the DepEd requirement to the Scholarship Board who, in turn, submits the same to the DepEd.
     
    DONATED SCHOLARSHIPS
    The Academy accepts scholarships from protégées, relatives, employees, friends and the like of benefactors. These scholars are subject to supervision by the Scholarship Board who informs the benefactors of the progress of their protégées.
     
    SAMAGUDELPA AND ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIPS
    Several slots of scholarships are available from the SAMAGUDELPA and ALUMNI ASSOCIATION for deserving students who qualify for the requirements imposed by these organizations.
     
    NOTE:
    As a matter of rule, no scholar shall be entitled to two (2) scholarships, financial assistance or subsidies. Should the scholar qualify in two or more scholarships, the highest grant is awarded to him/her and he/she forfeits his/her right to other scholarships.

    ADMISSION PROCEDURES
    Students seeking admission into the Academy shall follow the basic procedures:
         
  • Take the Computerized entrance examination      
  • If you pass the exam, submit requirements to the admission officer      
  • The admission officer will then administer the preliminary interview      
  • Accomplish the necessary information in the registration form      
  • Secure your desired schedule (morning, afternoon, or evening session/classes)      
  • Have the school cashier (Bursar Office) asses the tuition fee      
  • Pay the assessed tuition fee in either cash or installment      
  • Proceed to the Registrar’s Office

  • Original copy of Certificate of Rank/Honors for students who graduated with honors

    For Transfer Applicants:

  • If any of the entrance credentials of the student is later found to be spurious or bogus, the student has committed a grave act of misrepresentation. He/She shall be automatically dropped and the amount paid for tuition with other fees will not be refunded.

    Tuition Fees, Scholarships and Payment Schemes
         
  • Tuition and special fees will be posted on the bulletin boards prior to and during the enrollment period.      
  • The Academy, through its various programs, offer various scholarships to deserving students. The programs of assistance include the following: Entrance Scholarships, Scholastic Privilege Grant, Academic Scholarship Grant, Discount Privileges, Honors and Recruitment Incentives, Student Assistant Program, Scholarship Grants in coordination with TESDA:

    Entrance Scholarships
    Open to all high school graduates, this program requires no maintaining grades when applying for the scholarship. As long as the student gets to graduate from high school, he can avail of the entrance examination for free. The student will just take the computerized examination regularly being scheduled by Del Pilar Academy and should be able to pass the minimum score. He will be entitled to the benefits out of the test results.

    Examinations are usually administered prior to the enrollment for the 1st and 2nd semesters.     
  • The basic grade requirement to take the examination is a general average of 75 for high school students.     
  • The students must be able to meet the required grade to get the scholarship. Grades required are as follows:

  • This grant is open to all topnotch students with high General Weighted Average (GWA). There is no need to take the qualifying exams.

    Academic Scholarship Grants
         
  • A student with a general weighted average of 1.25 or better, with no grade lower than 2.0 in any subject and carrying a load of not less than 18 units or the normal load prescribed in the curriculum shall be granted full tuition fee discount for the succeeding semester.      
  • A student with general weighted average grade of 1.5 or better, with no grade lower than 2.0 in any subject and carrying a load of not less than 18 units shall be granted 50% tuition fee discount.

    Discount Privileges
         
  • Family - A 10% tuition fee discount shall be given to the third child enrolled in the college paying the least and thereafter.      
  • Teaching and non-teaching staff – A 15% tuition fee discount shall be given to full time faculty and staff, to their spouse and children.      
  • Administrative officer – A 20% tuition fee discount shall be given to full time administrative officers, their wives and their children.

    Honors and Recruitment Incentives
         
  • Open to all topnotch students with excellent general weighted average or ranking, 20% tuition fee discount shall be given to the students. The student will just submit a certification of ranking or evidences of the achievements from their school as one of the Top 10 of graduating class of 50 or more students.      
  • All enrolled students of Del Pilar Academy shall be given an incentive for every referral. The ”Bring a Buddy” Program is one of the privileges that the students can take. The student wanting to join the program should notify the admission officers
  •  
    Student Assistant Program
    The DPA shall provide a student assistant program for a number of students who are willing to finance their studies. The program shall be awarded to students with high scholastic achievements, who are industrious and with exemplary character. A student wanting to join the program should notify the admission officers.
     
    Scholarship Grants in coordination with TESDA
         
  • This scholarship program is a tie-up with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.      
  • In order to qualify for this grant, students must be able to maintain a minimum general average of 80% in their 4th Year standing.      
  • They will be required to take an examination to be administered by TESDA.      
  • Once they have passed the exam, they will also be required to have an interview.
  • The student shall be duly informed by the Scholarship Board if he/she loses his privilege. However, the grant can be awarded again on the month after the grading period when the student gets a passing grade.
